Rainforest, Here we come!!!

In preparation for our flight to the Rainforest, our class did a little research on airplanes and airports.  We took a field trip to the Auburn University Regional Airport.  The gracious airport personnel put on a great field trip.  Our kids got to sit in the cockpit of an airplane and "drive," learning different parts of the airplane...the yoke, wings, fuselage, cockpit, rudder, etc.

We learned about the job of the ground crew, using the wands to guide and direct taxiing planes.

We also learned about the "tug" that pulls airplanes around the airport.

We got to see the Auburn University airplane. Thanks to Matt Morgan for introducing new information and fielding questions.
We learned about the fuel trucks and how to fuel the planes.
We love the airport!!!!
