Our flight to the Rain forest!

This week we flew to the rain forest!  We all really enjoyed the "trip" and it was exciting to see the kids really get into their jobs.

Checking in at the ticket counter.  The ticket counters gave out the airplane tickets.

"Good morning, how are you doing?  May I please have your name?"

Putting luggage through security, and checking in the luggage.

Friends then went through the security check.

The mechanics went through a final check list to make sure the plan was ready to take off!

The pilots had to radio the control tower to make sure they were clear for take off!

Up, up, and away!!!

The chefs prepared a snack of cheerios, chocolate chips, and mini marshmallows for the plane's passengers.

Our class boarding the airplane and buckling up!

After our class was seated, Mrs. Reid's class, and Mrs. Sander's class boarded the plane.

Our sweet flight attendants handing out books before starting our in-flight movie!
The kids watching Rio 2!
Waiting in line at the passport counter!

After departing the plane, each child got a stamp in their passport!

Picking up luggage at the luggage carousel.

Our sweet clean-up helpers cleaning up after our flight!

Happy to be done cleaning!

Rainforest, Here we come!!!

In preparation for our flight to the Rainforest, our class did a little research on airplanes and airports.  We took a field trip to the Auburn University Regional Airport.  The gracious airport personnel put on a great field trip.  Our kids got to sit in the cockpit of an airplane and "drive," learning different parts of the airplane...the yoke, wings, fuselage, cockpit, rudder, etc.

We learned about the job of the ground crew, using the wands to guide and direct taxiing planes.

We also learned about the "tug" that pulls airplanes around the airport.

We got to see the Auburn University airplane. Thanks to Matt Morgan for introducing new information and fielding questions.
We learned about the fuel trucks and how to fuel the planes.
We love the airport!!!!
