We made worm habitats, had a worm race, and put their habitat in our tacticle center.

Sinking and Floating
This week for theme we did a sinking and floating activity. On Tuesday I started the lesson by reading two books.
Then, I presented the students with different objects. I let them hold each object and then as a class we made predictions on whether we thought that object would float or sink. We also talked about why we thought a particular object would float or sink. On Wednesday, I split the students up and they took turns placing the objects we made predictions on the prior day into the water.
Students used a happy smiley face or a sad smiley face to record their findings. We discussed our findings and brainstormed ideas as to why some objects floated while others sank.

We had a lot of fun!
